“Identità Golose” is an Italian online magazine of international cuisine with the latest news on great chefs, recipes from all over the world and new restaurant openings.

In recent days it has published its 2020 Guide to top-quality restaurants in Italy. We have combed it in search of the restaurants located in our territory, the Chianti Classico. And here they are.

Let’s start with Castelnuovo Berardenga, that has three restaurants which have made the list. L’Asinello by Senio Venturi and Elisa Bianchini, in the hamlet of Villa a Sesta, that has recently won its first Michelin Star.

The Poggio Rosso restaurant in Borgo San Felice lost its Michelin star this year, but “Identità Golose” rewards the cuisine of the new chef, Juan Camilo Quintero, by making it a new entrant in the 2020 Guide.

News also regarding the third restaurant in the Castelnuovo area included in the Guide, the Contrada of the Castel Monastero resort: chef Enrico Marmo in the kitchen, Leonardo Montagner desserts, Giovanni Miano in the wine cellar.

Another novelty of 2020 is Vitique, in Greve in Chianti: located in Greti, in a former industrial complex where grappa was distilled, the Gruppo Vinicolo Santa Margherita has created a food and wine hub: next to the wine department, you find a gem of a restaurant.

The chef is Antonio Guerra (previously he was working at the Bottega del Buon Caffè in Florence with Antonello Sardi, who also supported him when he moved to the Chianti Classico region). Managing the cellar and the whole establishment is Dario Nenci.

Let’s return to Sienese Chianti Classico, in one of the area’s top wine producers, the Castello di Volpaia, that wins a place on “Identità Golose” thanks to the cuisine of chef Marco Lagrimino.

In Cerbaia instead (in the municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa), we find the Tenda Rossa, with its long-standing family history.

That family Salcuni-Santandrea, who – with Maria Probst and Cristian Santdandrea in the kitchen – have won the Michelin star in the last two years.

“Identità Golose” also rewards the work of an exceptional staff (Natascia Santandrea, Barbara and Cristiana Salcuni in the dining area and cellar).

Finally, let’s have a look at the town of Barberino Tavarnelle, where the two Michelin stars are confirmed by the choice of “Identità Golose”.

The restaurant La Torre (COMO Castello del Nero) with chef Giovanni Luca Di Pirro; Osteria di Passignano (chef Nicola Damiani, owner Marcello Crini and a splendid story that celebrates its twenty year-long life).

Eight restaurants in total in the Sienese and Florentine Chianti Classico. A feast of quality and taste justly celebrated by “Identità Golose”.
