Preparations for the Christmas market in Radda in Chianti are in full swing. The village will be alive with activity next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, December 17 and 18.

Thanks to the joint effort among the town administration,  the Misericordia Association and the volunteer group of mothers of children who attend the local nursery school, a rich program will be offered for all tastes and ages.

In addition, the initiative assumes a solidarity effort. In collaboration with the volunteer services of the province of Terni (Cesvol), many exhibitors from Norcia will be present with their typical products.

This is a chance for Chianti to express its solidarity with the people of central Italy who were hit by the earthquake last August 24.

The market will feature handmade items and food products as well as street food and will begin on Saturday afternoon at 3 PM. From 4:30 PM, on the porch of Town Hall, the San Niccolò Chorus will lend a touch of Christmas atmosphere with their repertoire of holiday songs.

On Sunday, stands will be active all day starting at 9 AM. In the early afternoon, at 3:30 PM, on the porch of Town Hall, there will be activities for the little ones with the show, “Alla ricerca di Babbo Natale” (looking for Santa Claus.) After the show, the youngsters can have their picture taken with Santa Claus.

There will also be a mailbox to collect letters for Santa Claus from children anxiously awaiting their Christmas gifts.
