Gaiole in Chianti organises another great event: Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th November the second edition of “Sentiero Oxfam” will take place – two days of trekking and solidarity promoted by Oxfam Italia, in collaboration with the Badia a Coltibuono winery, the Gruppo Escursionisti della Berardenga Hiking Club, the Pro Loco of Gaiole and the patronage of the Municipality of Gaiole in Chianti.

After last year’s success, Oxfam Italia organized the second edition of the “Sentiero Oxfam”, a hiking trail that starts from Gaiole and crosses the ancient Chianti Valley.

The aim of the event is to create a parallel between the journeys of contemporary migrants and those of ancient pilgrims.

On Saturday November 4th, the starting point will be at 9am in Gaiole in Chianti, at the San Sigismondo Church.

The trail will wind through the ancient Chianti Valley, towards Ama, passing the Pieve di Spaltenna and San Piero in Avenano.

On the way back it will pass through Lecchi with a stop for a visit to the ancient castle of Meleto. At 8pm dinner at the Filarmonica in Gaiole in Chianti.

Sunday, November 5th, the meeting point will be at Gaiole in Chianti at 9am, outside the church of San Sigismondo – the walk will take you to Badia in Coltibuono and back.

Passing through San Donato in Perano and Vertine the trail will end in Gaiole in Chianti.

Participation fee: two days + dinner + overnight stay 65 euros; two days without dinner and overnight stay 40 euros; only one day 20 euros; dinner only 18 euros.
