The FISAR first level Sommelier Course will be held from 5th March to 18th June 2018 – every Monday from 9pm to 12am, in the Restaurant Casalta, via Certaldese 14, San Casciano.

It consists of 12 lessons plus a final evaluation test on the role of the sommelier, viticulture, oenology, legislation, spirits and beers. In addition, one morning during the course will be dedicated to an educational visit to a winery.

Program of the course: Sommelier tasks; Anatomy of the senses; Sensory analysis; Viticulture; Oenology – Vinification 1 and 2; Oenology – Sparkling wines; Oenology – Special Wines; Oenology – Special wines summary; Visit to a winery; Spirits; Legislation; Beer and other beverages; Evaluation test.

Enrolment is limited to a maximum of 45 people to guarantee a better learning experience (and the course in San Casciano is already half full). The cost of the Course includes: didactic book “Il Sommelier manuale pratico”; sommelier briefcase with 4 Rastal Vinum tasting glasses; Professional corkscrew; FISAR official pin badge; Slow Wine Guide 2018; wine tasting (about 3 wines per evening).

At the end of the first level course, after the final text, only those with a maximum of 4 absences will be issued with an attendance certificate, which will give access to the second level course.
