“Forma/ae” is the title of the photographic exhibition by Stefano Vigni, a Sienese photographer and publisher, which will be inaugurated on Friday 3 June at 6 pm at the Landscape Museum in Castelnuovo Berardenga.

The exhibition will remain on display until August 13 and will propose a journey through the colors of the countryside around Siena and black and white, which characterizes the architectural heritage of the city with two diametrically opposed views on the rural and urban landscape.

The project was born from a collaboration between the Municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga and other municipal administrations of the province to give space and visibility to the history of the territory, from city life to the rural landscape.

The exhibition is free to enter, during the opening hours of the Museum.

The exhibition

“Forma/ae” is an exhibition and a photographic book (Seipersei 2019, S. Vigni, M. Pierini) divided into two parts.

The first book is dedicated to the urban landscape, where black and white become the protagonist: a classic vision and a look at the historical and artistic beauty of Siena. A book dedicated to geometric and architectural forms.

The second book focuses on the land, the Crete Senesi and the rural landscape. The photographer presents his images as if they were paintings.

Here the color of the wheat and the green of the hills are repeated with seriality, filling the observer’s gaze and inspiring his poetics.

The attempt of the author of “Forma / ae” is to go back to recognizing the diversity of the city. Siena is told through its singularities, two distinct realities but inseparable from each other, inside and outside the walls, without which its beauty would not exist.
