Ten high quality Tuscan food and wine products are among over 800 national Dop and Igp denominations on display from 3rd April at the European Parliament in Brussels, in the exhibition “Geographical Indications – Italian cultural heritage”, curated by the Qualivita Foundation.

The 10 Tuscan “geographical indications” chosen as a symbol of the link between food and culture are: 6 Dop (Brunello di Montalcino wine, Chianti Classico wine, Cinta Senese, Pecorino Toscano cheese, Prosciutto Toscano, Tuscan Bread) and 4 Igp (Tuscan Olive Oil, Panforte di Siena, Vitellone Bianco breed, from Central Apennines, Fagiolo di Sorana beans).

The exhibition displays a series of panels that show how these high-quality agricultural products are often represented in various works of art, such as ancient texts, paintings, historical documents and in architectural heritage, giving a distinctive flavour to the culture of a geographical area.
