The wine festival hasn’t let the bad weather spoil the fun. This event’s popularity and the good planning of the Viticoltori Montefioralle Association, have guaranteed its success.

The stalls were in fact hosted under a large covering structure, which allowed the festival to carry on under a torrential rain on Sunday, September 24th .

This was Montefioralle Divino, the festival which showcase wines produced by local wineries (such as Altiero, Brogioni Maurizio, Castello di Verrazzano, Roberto Grassi, Montefioralle, Podere Campriano, San Cresci, Bacco, Villa Calcinaia, Viticcio).

In total 956 glasses were sold, 90 % of which were registered on the association’s website. Despite the bad weather, the number of participants has been the same as last year.

Ten wine producers took part in the event and at least 50 Chianti Classico wines were offered for tasting. Some of the producers presented bottles from an older vintage.

“Quality is vital because of our audience. The participants – says the Association of Viticoltori Montefioralle – are all wine enthusiasts, including some bloggers and people who work in the wine sector”.

The association has gained a number of “followers” who every year take part in the festival and the winemakers’ dinner at Villa Calcinaia. There’s also been some real interest from an international audience.
