Lorenzo Vanni was born in San Gusmé, a small hamlet in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga: “After spending many years in Florence – he tells us – I decided to come back to live in the Chianti“.

He has a small tourist rental business here. And here he came up with a very original idea: he placed a window in a position to perfectly frame the breathtaking landscape of rolling hills and vineyards.

“The window – he tells us – is there to draw the visitor’s eye to the beautiful Chianti landscape”.

This old window has a story to tell: “It’s a very special and weathered window- says Lorenzo – that was in my country house before the restoration. And the garden is a meeting place for artists, especially on the occasion of the traditional Festa del Luca fair”.

The photos that many people take in front of this window (“Foreign tourists love it” says Lorenzo) teach us a small, yet important lesson: it takes real passion for the territory and a simple idea to turn something ordinary into something special.

After all, we are in Chianti Classico: we do not need any frills to highlight its great beauty. An old window is enough.
