Enhancing the extra virgin olive oil – one of the excellent products of the Chianti area – and learning about its supply chain, from the production process to its arrival on the table.

This is the aim of the course dedicated to olive oil that is taking place in Castellina in Chianti.

The course is divided over six lessons, and is organised by the Associazione Città dell’Olio, the “Castellina” Natural Shopping Center and Aicoo, the Associazione Italiana Conoscere l’Olio d’Oliva, under the patronage of the Municipality of Castellina in Chianti.

“The extra virgin olive oil – says the Mayor of Castellina in Chianti, Marcello Bonechi, president of the Città dell’Olio of Tuscany who also holds the vicarial role of president of the Città dell’Olio – is a top-quality product of our territory, and just like our local wine it deserves to be known and valued as an ambassador of Chianti and Tuscany around the world. With this course, promoted together with the “Castellina natural shopping center” and Aicoo, the Associazione Italiana Conoscere l’Olio d’Oliva – which I’d like to thank – we wanted to offer the chance to learn about this extraordinary product. These lessons have been received with much enthusiasm and are making people discover our extra virgin olive oil through its history, production, tasting techniques and use in cooking“.

“The success of this course – concludes Bonechi – will certainly be an incentive to organise new programmes aimed at those who want to deepen their knowledge of this product, learn to recognise its quality and the long-established link with our territory”.
