The much-awaited Spring Wine Festival in the Sienese Chianti is back, with a new location and an even richer program. Preparations are currently underway for the 24th edition of “Radda nel Bicchiere”, promoted and organized by the Pro Loco of Radda in Chianti.

Given the popularity and the growing number of participants, both in terms of wine producers and visitors, the organisers have decided to set up the tasting stands in a more suitable and comfortable spot.

The festival will still take place in the town’s historic centre: the location this year is no longer Via Roma, but Viale Matteotti, along the historic walls.

The new feature of this edition is “Radda Vintage”: old vintages of local wines will be offered for tasting under the loggia of the Palazzo del Podestà, to give an overview of the ageing potential of the wines produced in Radda.

A unique opportunity reserved for those who have already purchased the glass for the event, with a surcharge of only 5 euros.

On Saturday 1st June the tasting will be held by the Florentine journalist and writer Leonardo Romanelli – “L’eleganza fatta vino nei territori di Radda in Chianti e i Colli Tortonesi – Timorasso e Sangiovese, vitigni protagonisti nella degustazione dell’annata 2015” (“The elegant wines produced in the territories of Radda in Chianti and the Colli Tortonesi – Timorasso and Sangiovese, highlights of the 2015 vintage tasting”.)

On Sunday 2nd you have the “Radda vs. 2014 – un’annata da vignaioli” (Radda vs. 2014, a vintage for winemakers”), a meeting led by the agronomist Andrea Frassineti.

This edition’s special guests will be the wines of the Colli Tortonesi represented by the wine producers Vigneti Boveri Giacomo, Terre di Sarizzola Mattia Sarizzo, La Colombera Elisa Semino and Vigneti Repetto Gian Paolo Repetto.

During the event, you’ll be able to visit the “Chianti and surroundings” photographic exhibition – The Sienese Chianti territory seen by 40 artists by the Fondazione Alimondo Ciampi.

For 20 Euros you can buy a tasting glass with the festival’s logo, and taste all the labels that the producers have on display. Information: Pro Loco
