The superb cuisine of Vitique in Greti (Greve in Chianti) and the Cantina Mesa’s wines: a classy combination that you can enjoy on May 31st, with a wine-tasting dinner to discover the products of the new winery of Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo (“Mesa: la Sardegna nel bicchiere”).
This is the menu, with each dish paired with a wine: Oyster, BBQ sauce with vanilla and parsley ice (Gioia Mia Spumante Metodo Classico Brut); Scampi, burrata and potato gateau (Giunco Vermentino di Sardegna doc 2017); Cockerel Terrine, roasted spring onion and caprino goat cheese (Rosa Grande Carignano del Sulcis Rosato doc 2017); Risotto, guinea-fowl and raspberry coulis (Buio Carignano del Sulcis doc 2017); Lamb, zucchini, aubergines and pollen (Buio Buio Carignano del Sulcis Riserva doc 2014); Pre-dessert; Smoked pineapple, yogurt ice cream and rosemary salt (Orodoro Isola dei Nuraghi igt passito 2015); Assorted mini-pastries.
The name “Mesa” – which means “table” in Sardinian, as in Spanish – represents the essence of this winery. Nourishment, conviviality, maternal love, simplicity and all the scents of Sardinia.
