The dates of the seventh edition of the traditional “Bistecca Championship” are set: Friday 15th and Saturday 16th June.

This is when Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Mercatale will be turned into a huge open-air grill, where the “Mastri Braciaoli” will be skilfully cooking the cuts of meat bought directly from local butchers.

The top-quality meat will be accompanied by the excellent Chianti Classico wines, that will be showcased in the square during the event.

The main focus of the “Bistecca Championship” is not really to see who can eat the most meat, instead it’s creating a community feel, spending time together sharing a delicious meal outdoor.

A very successful event, with a growing number of participants. Last year almost a thousand people (many tourists, especially foreigners) crowded the tables during the two evenings.
