Along the road that connects Castellina Scalo with Castellina in Chianti, facing the family vineyards, Andrea and Cesare Cecchi have created a place dedicated to taste and Tuscan tradition in their own Villa Cerna.

The idea of “Foresteria di Villa Cerna” became reality thanks to the collaboration with two experts of Tuscan hospitality, Maria and Stefano Puliti, who have successfully run the “Ristoro l’Antica Scuderia”, in Badia a Passignano.

Matteo Bartolozzi, Stefano’s son-in-law, conoisseur of wines, and Marco Bini, Matteo’s brother-inlaw, who guides the restaurant’s development, joined the Pulitis in their endavor.

The Foresteria di Villa Cerna offers many different scenarios (see them all at www.foresteriavillacerna.it).

For example, there is the Classic Wine Tour with the tasting of three wines. It includes a visit to the vineyard, as well as to the wine cellar and “barriccaia” of Villa Cerna, the tasting of three wines of the Cecchi Family Estates (one white and two reds) and a platter of typical food products (20 euros per person).

There is the Coevo Wine Tour which includes a light lunch and the tasting of five wines, a visit to the wine cellar and “barriccaia”  of Coevo (near the Cecchi winery), lunch in a wine-restaurant (antipasto, first or second course, water, coffee, dessert – 50 euros).

There are two tastings with a dinner (antipasto, first course, second course with side dish – except for those based on porcini mushrooms or truffles – dessert, water, coffee).

There is also the Cooking Class, cooking lessons taught by the chefs. The dishes prepared will be decided according to the clients’ requests and depending on the season.

Therefore, the topic of the cooking lesson can be: antipasto, first courses, second courses and dessert. The lesson lasts 2-3 hours. The customers will then taste the results in the restaurant, accompanied by 2 glasses of wine paired with the food (110 euros).

Finally, there is a truffle “hunt”, usually from 10 AM to 2 PM. Meeting is at the Foresteria with a hunt for truffles in the nearest truffle zone.

Lunch with a truffle base at the restaurant (antipasto, first, course, second course, dessert) with 2 glasses of wine is 130 euros per person.
