Not only roses and violets sprout around Chianti in the spring. In addition to nature, the desire to “do” and hang out together (better if around the table with food and drink) awakens.
For this reason, the numerous associations in the territory organize fairs and celebrations, from the colorful and bizarre to the traditional, with creativity and good will.
In Chiocchio, a town among vineyards and olive groves, a few kilometers from Florence and part of the Township of Greve in Chianti, townspeople get ready for one of the most important, historical local festivals, “La Sagra del Cinghiale” (the wild boar festival).
This year is the 36th edition of the event, a milestone not held by many. In the welcoming “sala delle feste” of the Circolo Arci, beginning with a dinner on Saturday, April 22, until May 1st, cooks, helpers and waiters will greet the numerous diners who want to participate in this traditional event.
A large and well-organized kitchen will offer a typical menu based on wild boar hunted in the Chianti woods. Penne or gnocchi in wild boar sauce, stewed wild boar, grilled wild boar steaks and many other delicacies ending with dessert, everything accompanied by excellent wines.
everything accompanied by excellent wines. All of the staff, led by the president of the “circolo Arci” of Chiocchio, Marco Ermini, are anxious to return and improve upon last year’s event.
Everyone will try his hardest to reach another great success and be appreciated by all of the guests, even the most demanding.
