Important events, like the old “Rose, Pane e Vino”, return to the city center of San Casciano during the month of May.

“Profumi e sapori del Chianti” (Scents and flavors of Chianti) is the name chosen for the initiative which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21.

“With the help of some nurseries,” declares the Pro Loco of San Casciano, “we will fill the town with roses and aromatic plants. You will be able to admire them while shopping and viewing work from local artists. Two of these will be on the terrace of the ‘ex-Stianti’ with Petali d’autore, the creation of 2 large works of art through the use of petals”.

In piazza della Repubblica (Piazzone), there will be farm animals and some workshops for children as well as a contest among grass cutting tractors on Sunday afternoon.

It will be possible to taste grilled specialties from local butchers paired to a good glass of Chianti Classico produced by various San Casciano wineries.
