The Tourist Committee of San Polo in Chianti with the patronage of the Township of Greve in Chianti has begun the San Polo summer of events, “R…Estate a San Polo”.
It started on June 17 and will continue until July 17, with the grand finale on August 20. The following is the calendar:
Monday, June 27-Wednesday, June 29, starting at 7pm: Evening Beach Volley Tournament at the public gardens/single category. Opening of the stand, “Il Mangiasano” (Healthy Eating).
Friday, July 1, at 5pm: “Me la faccio a me la mangio” (I’ll make it and I’ll eat it): learn to make pizza with Aldo at the pizzeria, “La Posta”. There are 23 spaces available, reserved for children in nursery and primary school (Parents don’t participate. Sign up by June 30 at tel. 3382123787).
Monday, July 4, at 9:30pm: Super Bingo at the Sms L’Unione Club with great prizes.
Tuesday, July 5, at 9:30pm: “Musica e Risate” (Music and Laughs) at the restaurant/pub “Sotto l’Arco” (Under the Arch): team contest with “Il Musichiere” (two categories, Junior and Senior).
Friday, July 8, at 6:30pm: “Holi”, Music Festival at the public gardens, with music and a “group coloring” in the Indian festival manner. You must wear a white t-shirt to participate.
Tuesday, July 12: ”Grande caccia al tesoro a squadre” (Team Treasure Hunt) at the public gardens: 5:30pm for the Junior category (Nursery and Primary school age), 9:30pm for the Senior category (flashlights required).
Thursday, July 14: “Giochi senza frontiere” (Games without borders), special edition:,at the public gardens. Challenge among the teams of San Polo, Grassina, Poggio alla Croce and Strada in Chianti. Ending with “La Cocomerata” (Watermelon!!).
Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17: “Calcio Saponato” (Soapy Soccer), at the public gardens/Senior and Junior Categories Sunday.
August 28 at 8pm: “Gran finale a tavola sotto le stelle” (Grand finale, eating under the stars) in Via di Rubbiana.
