La Romola (San Casciano) has been welcoming the holidays with the traditional Christmas Market since 2010.

This year as well, the streets of town will be filled with stands selling local handmade products to help celebrate. Don’t miss this occasion to buy gifts and take a stroll in the open air in one of the most suggestive villages of our area, one which has been able to maintain its identity over the years.

nataleromolaMichela, one of the mothers who came up with this project, explains: “Six years ago, together with my friends Vanessa, Natalie and Sylvia we created the Christmas Market. We have always been supported by the families of La Romola, local businesses, all of the associations and volunteer organizations of the area, the church, the two historic clubs in town, and above al,l by the town administration in the person of Sandro Matteini“.

“Our market,” she adds, “is made up of stands which carry only handmade items created by mothers with a specific hobby. Then there is our stand, created by the four of us. Part of the proceeds are donated to charity and part helps us reorganize the market for next year”.

There will be games and music for children managed by Spazio Geko, and lunch time you can taste la “polentata”, cooked by the volunteers of the Arci and Acli Clubs of La Romola.

This year, to end with a bang, the young pianist and composer, Giovanni Berdondini will hold a Christmas concert in the Church of Santa Maria alla Romola. All are invited to participate!
