Some of the most famous interpreters of Chianti viticulture will be protagonists from September 15-18 in Panzano in Chianti.

Nineteen producers belonging to the Viticulture Union of Panzano in Chianti will present their wines, both Chianti Classico and IGT, during “Vino al Vino” (Wine to Wine).

The great wines of Panzano, like every year, will be presented to the press and wine fans the third week of September, during the famous Chianti enological fair.

The event is sponsored by the Union of Winemakers of Panzano in Chianti and the consortium for Chianti Classico wine, with the patronage of the town of Greve in Chianti.

The dates and times are as follows: Thursday, September 15, from 4 to 8 PM Friday, September 16, from noon till 7:30 PM Saturday, September 17, from 11 AM till 8 PM. There will be jazz from 6 PM to 8 PM. Sunday, September 18, from 11 AM till 7:30 PM. Jazz from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

You can enjoy a high quality wine tasting tour in the main piazza of the town (piazza Bucciarelli), by purchasing a wine tasting glass for 15 Euros. Jazz musicians will help enrich the experience.

The zone of Panzano is unique, envied for the beauty of its landscape, the art and culture of its castles, its numerous churches, its delicious gastronomic traditions, and especially, its wine.

“In fact” say the organizers, “within the Chianti Territory we can note a typical Panzano style, inherent to a small area with specific climactic and homogenous conditions necessary for the cultivation of wine. These are vineyards generally located between 350 and 450 meters above sea level, with some rare exceptions above 500 meters. The principal vine is Sangiovese, with its origins in Chianti and the capacity to adapt its perfume and fragrance to the land on which it develops, made up mostly of galestro and alberese rocks”.

“This is a centenary history of the taste of wine”, they conclude. “Last but not least, there is a fierce professionalism among our group of producers who have come from all over to diversify, enriching the fertile Tuscan wine soil with new and effective interpretation. Their enthusiasm and passion have contributed to the growth of the greatness of Panzano and its wines. We can see all of this in the term ’terroir’, which has been verified in Panzano over the years: a synthesis between natural elements and human intervention, among microclimate, mesoclimate, and macroclimate, between the exposition of vineyards and vinification techniques, between cultural and geological factors. The result is a very original and efficient wine melting-pot, which includes typicality and research, tradition and innovation, past and future, in a harmonic and wellbalanced production which aims for quality and the creation of great wines”.
