Opening day is Thursday, September 8, at 5PM in Piazza Matteotti, Greve in Chianti. Town representatives and members of the Consortium for Chianti Classico are ready to launch the Expo of Chianti Classico, the largest event dedicated to our princely wine.
The countdown has begun. For four days, from September 8 to Sunday, September 11, the main Piazza of Greve in Chianti will fill with the inebriating aromas of vintage Chianti Classico, Reserve, and Grand Selection.
The event, in its 46th edition, organized with passion and competence by the town of Greve in Chianti (with the partcipation of the Consortium of Chianti Classico Wine) offers a rich agenda of appointments.
From folk, street band, lyric, and DJ music, to debates (Thursday, September 8, with the area mayors and Friday, September 9, dedicated to the 300 years of Chianti Classico).
There will also be the shopkeepers of the “Borgo” (town), exhibiting on Friday, September 9 at 9:30 PM, the procession of the patron saint on the evening of Thursday, September 8, guided wine tastings, food and… wine.
In other words, the “Gallo Nero” (Black Rooster) is ready to crow in honor of our wine!
