A Restorer, a blacksmith, a stonemason, a Carpenter, a ceramist. Comparing stories in San Casciano.

A flute sings the airs of music by Benedetto Marcello that accompany the stories of the artisans of San Casciano. To play them is Simone Sani, Restorer, artist and craftsman, that says face camera:  “if I lived in Central Europe would do to secure the musician. Instead I’m a restorer and am still very happy with my job”.

Randomness, being born in place and for this I saw written on their path in life, tied to ancient crafts. That’s the figure that is highlighted by Silvio D’Angelo in short Per caso, presented at Slow Movie Contest, first edition.

That’s how “similar”, blacksmith and depositario disused but beautiful objects, like an old bottler or a vintage bike, master Potter of the furnace the Seagull, a stonemason, a Carpenter, a Restorer, tell each other in short by accident, highlighting the roots of what they do with the Chianti territory and in particular of San Casciano , which was decisive for them in life and especially in the work, leading to a forced choice and at the same time. Artisans who today have no more apprentices and trades in danger of disappearing

He did so in the context of Slow Movie Contest, which is the territory of Chianti Classico narrated in eight short films made by young filmmakers. Italians and foreigners.

It is a project carried out in 2013 from La Macina di San Cresci, place of art, culture and openness to the world in Greve in Chianti. Local traditions of Arts and crafts have been central to the work of the directors who participated in the first contest for the development of the area through film.

Eight short films that we have the honor to propose on WeChianti, absolutely ideal place to welcome them.
