For the entire summer, from June 15 till September 15, medical assistence for tourists will be available in the towns of Greve in Chianti, San Casciano and Tavarnelle.

It will be available in Greve four times a week (Tuesday, 2pm to 7pm, Wednesday, 8am to 1pm, Saturday, 2pm to 7pm and Sunday 9am to 1pm) at the Italian Red Cross in Via Gavinaia; tel. 055 853027.

“This is the first year that the Chianti towns will have this service available in all four townships”, tell us Cristina Faini, Giulia Casamonti and Elisabetta Masti, political/social councilors of the town union”.

“The service”, they add, “ answers the needs of a territory that has a strong tourist presence as attested by the positive numbers from last year, around 450.000 visitors”.

In the Town of Tavarnelle, the service will be available at the “Misericordia” in via Naldini every Monday from 2-7pm. Tel: 055 8050778 or 055 8076426.

In San Casciano, the service will be active on Thursdays, from 2pm to 7pm at the Misericordia in Via Morrocchesi: tel. 055820023.

The cost is as follows: 15 euros for day visits; 25 euros for home visits. Emergency visits and work accidents are not included on the pay scale. During the night, there will be continuous assistance available in the area. Above tariffs will be applied to non-residents of Tuscany.
