The usual summer events will take place in the charming village of Radda in Chianti, “Radda nel Bicchiere” (Radda in a glass) and “Radda rinascimentale nel segno del Ferrucci” (Renaissance Radda under the mark of Ferrucci), which have become regular appointments for lovers of good wine and folklore.
Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th of June “Radda nel Bicchiere” will start with its twenty-first edition.Every year the small town in the heart of Chianti attracts thousands of tourists and people who love to enjoy the breathtaking scenery with one or more glasses of fine wines.
Guests of honor of this edition will be the wines of Etna, of which guided tasting will be available too. During the first weekend of June, in the frame of the beautiful village of Radda, there will be tastings with producers, seminars and wines at cellar prices.
Noteworthy the Saturday meetings “Radda incontra L’Etna – Analogie e differenze del rosso d’altura”(Radda meets Etna – Similarities and differences between deep red wines) held by Giampaolo Gravina and “Radda in Nero – I vini di Radda in Chianti alla prova dei bicchieri neri, con qualche intruso” (Radda in Black – The Wines of Radda in Chianti tasted in blacks glasses, with some intruders), seminar held by David Bonucci, the President of Enoclub Siena. Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th of June there will be the fourth edition of the re-enactment “Radda Rinascimentale nel segno del Ferrucci” (Renaissance Radda under the mark of Ferrucci), two days marked by historical parades, flea markets and antique games, all accompanied by great food.
The event is dedicated to the once Mayor of the Chianti village at the time of the “Signorie”, Francesco Ferrucci known as Ferruccio. The festival will see the pairing with “ferrucciane” cities of Florence, Gavinana, Pistoia, Volterra, and Vicchio, each participating its own historical parade, and performances of jugglers, stilt walkers and flag bearers.
Moreover, in the old town there will be a market and stands with many gastronomical delights like “ficattole”, crepes and grilled meat. The highly anticipated game of “palla in botte” (barrel ball) cannot be missed.
