The Frescobaldi family has bought for 13.3 million euro the estate in San Donato in Perano, between Gaiole and Radda in Chianti, in the historic Chianti Classico wine region.

The estate covers 250 hectares, has 52 south facing Chianti Classico vineyards at an altitudes between 400 and 600 meters above sea level. A recently built large cellar is used both for the winemaking and the aging process.

“We’ve been running this estate since early 2014 and we appreciate its great potential – says Lamberto Frescobaldi, President of Frescobaldi – In 2018 we’ll present the excellent wines of the 2015 vintage, which have extraordinary complexity and longevity. Our flagship wines will be the Gran Selezione, and two more Chianti Classico wines will be produced”.

The Tuscan Marchesi Frescobaldi s.r.l. group includes Frescobaldi, the company that manages six estates in the most beautiful areas of Tuscany (Pomino Castle, Nipozzano Castle, Tenuta Castiglioni, Tenuta CastelGiocondo, Tenuta Ammiraglia and Remole), the estate of Attems (Collio) which is the only one out of Tuscany, and the company Dei Frescobaldi R & R srl, which operates in the food service industry.

In 2016 the Frescobaldi Group, which is owned entirely by the Frescobaldi family, had a turnover in excess of 100 million euro.
