A trip in time through memories and objects of the 20th century: on Sunday, November 13, from 10 AM to 8 PM an important event will animate downtown Barberino, heart of Chianti and the Valdelsa.

Since 2004, an orange flag (symbol of quality tourism) has been flying over the Barberino castle, site of medieval architecture and atmosphere.

The event will feature a garden of memory dedicated to the 1900s, a history full of transformation and rich in events.  Art nouveau, events and style, tendencies of a century of history will intertwine with expositions, events, and animation in every corner and piazza of the ancient village.

The exhibition is promoted by the Township of Barberino Val d’Elsa  and organized by Colleventi. “900 in piazza” offers a rich program of events for the entire day. A

uto and motorbike exhibits will alternate with antique and collectors’ stands, showcasing objects from the past. There will be activities for the big and small.

“This is a new chance to give value to the historic center of the town”, comments the tourism assessor, Cristina Pratesi. “It gives continuity to our project for strengthening tourism, open and welcoming, representing the town and revitalizing the area with a plan aimed at quality cultural opportunities and events for the promotion of the Chianti territory. This time we decided on the theme of memory, in homage to a century of great cultural achievements, both social and economic, a page of history which our grandparents will remember and celebrate together with the community”.
