Bottles of wine that become works of art in San Donato in Poggio

You can see “Opere di Vetro” (Artwork in glass) in the beautiful photo gallery above. We are talking about the exhibition on the first floor of Palazzo Malaspina in San Donato in Poggio (Tavarnelle).

It is part of the rich program of exhibitions and events that will animate the Chianti town until May 29: “Ciclo-Vino del Chianti Classico”.

The show exhibits circa 20 bottles of Chianti Classico decorated by the creative hands of some high-profile Tuscan and other artists. The exhibition was born by the idea to create designs on the bottles, inspired by the passage of the Giro d’Italia bike race through Chianti Classico territory.

The bottles, as well as the splendid barriques in front of the Palace, are part of the exhibition “Botte ad arte” (artistic barrels) and were artistically reinterpreted by some of the greatest names in contemporary art and young artists: Nano and Elena Campeggi, Elio de Luca, Fabio de Poli, Paolo Staccioli, Marco Borgianni, Antonio Manzi, Francesco Nesi, Secco Ragni, Duccio Nacci, Valentina Piccirillo, Eugenio Riotto, Antonio Aiazzi, Lara Francini, Elena Donnini, Lorenzo Brinati, Danilo Fusi, Skim, Stefano Sardelli.
