Barberino Val d’Elsa is once again the host of “Barberino in fiore”, a flower show/market in its 10th edition. It is dedicated to flowers, food and wine, artisan handicrafts and the art of the Chianti region.

It will take place on Saturday, May 7 from 4pm to midnight and Sunday, May 8, from 4pm to 11 pm along the streets of the town. Nature visits the hamlet, already known for its tourist-environmental brand “Bandiera Arancione”, and reigns with an ample exposition of roses, flowers and local plants.

Local food and wine products, hand-made products and works of art divide the scene with the queen of flowers. And of course, there will be wine, the winning formula that gives polish to Chianti region local fairs.

Along via Vittorio Veneto, the vineyards of Chiant will have wine tasting and the possibility to buy the “bicchiere della festa”, the party glass. 5 euros allow the visitor to have 3 tastes under the gazebo of the participating vineyards.

The chance to unite a passion for gardening with the love for local cuisine and artisanal talent is offered by “Terra di Toscana”, which during the 2 days of the fair, will run a market featuring typical products and hand-made quality items.

There will be belts, hats, handbags, handprinted fabrics, costume jewelry, home furnishings, and objects for the house and garden.

The cultural program is rich in events put together by the organizers for the last 10 years: artistic performances with flowers, entertainment for children, theatre cabaret and minstrel music through town, Latin-American rhythms and dance, naturalistic excursions, art shows, ceramics and vintage autos.

For the 10th anniversary of the event, there will be a special illumination created by multicolored bands of light focused on historic buildings and the church of San Bartolomeo.
