The 27th edition of the Chianti Classico Collection closes at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence: with great public success, among professionals in the sector, specialized and sector press.
About 2.500 industry professionals present, including restaurants, buyers, wine bars, and about 400 accredited journalists.
The Chianti Classico was told in the words of the President of the Consortium Giovanni Manetti, who greeted the press by summarizing the state of health of the denomination.
“2019 closes positively for the Black Rooster – sayd Manetti – all the numbers are growing. At an economic level, it has been an increase in value since the vineyard: the 2019 vintage saw the prices of the grapes increase by 10%, and in the last three months the sales of the bottles have grown by an equally 10%. It can be said that the economic driving force are the two premium types, the Chianti Classico Riserva and the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, which represent a total of 42% of the market volumes and 55% of the total turnover in 2019. The Grand Selection alone earns 15 percentage points on the value of sales”.
“Satisfaction is the key word for our 2019, with which we also inaugurate this 2020 – continued Manetti – The family of us producers is increasingly expanding (515) and we are increasingly united: we present ourselves united in events like this, sharing not only a brand but a common project, linked to a territory and a path of quality”.
“An evident sign of this – he concluded – is the ever greater adherence to the Grand Selection project: in just one year the companies that produce it have risen from 95 to 144. The true essence of this territory and of this denomination is the commitment of us all winemakers to produce quality: increasingly authentic and territorial wines, which know how to reflect in its various facets as well as the various facets of a precious stone reflect the light”.
