On Tuesday 11th September, almost two years after the first collective initiative, the Vignaioli Radda Association (Radda’s wine producers association) was officially established.

The setting was the splendid cloister of Santa Maria al Prato in Radda in Chianti (which hosts Casa Chianti Classico).

The winemakers from Radda, who have been a cohesive and synergic group for many years, have finally decided make themselves official, in order to effectively pursue the objectives set out by the Association.

These ambitious goals mainly concern the protection, enhancement and collective communication of the excellent wines produced in the Radda territory.

The members mainly produce wines made with their own grapes and from vineyards located in the municipality of Radda in Chianti: they are committed to an effective collaboration, to promote sustainable agriculture in all its forms, implementing organic and/or biodynamic farming methods, opting for substances and techniques with minimal environmental impact.

This is in view of definitively abandoning all harmful and destructive agronomic practices such as chemical weeding.

The founding members are: Borgo La Stella, Borgo Salcetino, Brancaia, Cantina Castelvecchi, Caparsa, Castello di Albola, Castello di Volpaia, Castello di Monterinaldi, Colle Bereto, Fattoria di Montemaggio, Istine, L’Erta di Radda, Monteraponi, Montevertine, Podere Capaccia, Podere l’AJa, Podere Terreno alla Volpaia, Poggerino, Pruneto, Tenuta Carleone di Castiglioni, Terrabianca, Val delle Corti, Vignavecchia.

Roberto Bianchi (Val delle Corti) has been elected president of the association, and Martino Manetti is the vice president (Montevertine).
