For the price of 7.5 million euros, American Handsome Properties International (pictures from www.handsomepropertiesinternational.com) has put on sale a magnificent villa that once belonged to Michelangelo Buonarroti, set on the Castellina in Chianti hills.

“This prestigious property – the ad reads – used to be owned by famous Tuscan painter Michelangelo Buonarroti, known for having painted the Sistine Chapel. In 1549 he bought the property, which then remained in the Buonarroti family until 1867. The current owner has accurately restored it maintaining the rich historical heritage. He holds copies of the house’s original documents”.

The present owner, engineer Rinaldo Busoni, bought it in the early seventies, without knowing its illustrious history: he has reconstructed it from the Archivio di Stato (State Archives) of Florence.

The splendid villa has ten bedrooms, seven bathrooms, plus the surrounding land. This property is a real piece of history and myth immersed in the heart of the Chianti Classico.
