The national preview of “Cenerentola” (Cinderella) will light up the stage of the town theater, Vittorio Alfieri, in Castelnuovo Berardenga. The event is scheduled for Sunday, January 8, at 9:15 PM.

Cinderella will be presented in contemporary style, proposed by choreographers, Roberto Sartori and Christian Fara, and interpreted by the Kaos Ballet Company of Tuscany, with music by Prokofiev and Rossini.

The theatre season in Castelnuovo is promoted by the town administration in cooperation with the “Fondazione Toscana Spettacolo onlus” and under the artistic direction of “Lo Stanzone delle Apparizioni”.

Cinderella brings to life a story inspired by the Charles Perrault version of the fairy tale. The protagonist isn’t a princess. She is different from the rest of society and lends a bit of ironic humor which adds a touch of poetry.

The portrait of the “new” Cinderella is counteracted by light and shadows, with new and different characteristics in respect to the traditional character. There will still be a happy ending, thanks to the sensitivity of the prince who will save her from her step mother and stepsisters.

The curtain of the Vittorio Alfieri Town Theatre will reopen on Saturday, January 21, with Nuzzo Di Biase in “Gli impiegati dell’amore”.
