Tens of Tuscan wineries have designed a constellation on the map of Tuscany. And thus, the Tourist Movement of Tuscan (MTV) Wine gets ready for the week of August 6-14 to celebrate “Calici di Stelle” in all of the areas of the most beloved wine in the world.

It is a week where all of the wineries belonging to the MTV Toscana will promote activities from sunset on. They aim to educate and entertain the thousands of visitors who will take advantage of the traditional event, promoted in collaboration with the association “Città del Vino” (Wine City).

“It is an important appointment which every years sees our companies as protagonists,” explains the president of the MTV, Violante Gardini. “This year, we have decided to present ourselves as a “constellation”, because this is the way we see our companies, a network which can promote the wine system in this region. During that week, we will see the largest amount of visitors from all over the world”.

“Cibo di strada con Calici di Stelle” (Street food with starlit Chalices) is the theme invented by the MTV Toscana for this edition. On August 10, in fact, the many member companies will host a street food producer, each representing a product and a region. It is an unusual combination, born from the reevaluation of street food, certifying its tradition, origin and history.

Each company will host a producer and pair a wine. From the classic Tuscan panino with “lampredotto” or “porchetta”, to Sicilian “arancini” and fritters, passing through fried food from Le Marche, to the “bombette” of Alberobello.

The program: from the land of Brunello to the land of Nobile, passing through Chianti and Val d’Orcia, down to Maremma and the northern coast of Tuscany. The many wineries who will participate in the initiative, (see www.mtvtoscana.com for the detailed program, territory by territory) will also organize, during August 6-14, numerous events; from music to art,  shows and wine tastings, all with the starry sky of Tuscany as its connecting thread.
