Castelnuovo Berardenga is ready to celebrate the Christmas festivities.

The GS Berardenga, with the support of the municipal administration, has organised the seventh edition of its Christmas Market. It’ll be held in the town’s historic centre on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December 2019.

Over 40 stalls will fill Piazza Marconi and the streets of the town, all beautifully decorated and lit up for the occasion; you’ll find artisans, artists and local food producers.

It’s a perfect opportunity to buy yourself some of the area’s excellent wine and food, find many beautiful gifts including some great Christmas baskets.

SATURDAY November 30th

The market opens at 3.30pm. At 4pm, the much-awaited Santa Claus arrives straight from the North Pole, and opens his house, collecting all the children’s letters. At 5pm Christmas carols with the pupils of the “E. Mazzei” elementary school.

SUNDAY, December 1st

You can discover the area by joining the walk organised by the Gruppo Escursionisti of Quercegrossa and Berardenga, starting at 9am. Don’t miss the “Truffle Hunt” set up by the farm Profumi della Berardenga.

The truffle hunters and their dogs will accompany you on a walk in the woods, including a guided demonstration and breakfast. Departure at 9am from Piazza Marconi (booking is advisable).

Throughout the morning, Nero with his horse and cart, will let children and parents discover the wonders of the Villa Chigi’s park.
At 11am the markets will open, and at lunchtime you can taste delicious polenta with wild boar ragout.

In the afternoon, from 3.30pm, Santa Claus will open his home and carry on collecting the children’s letters; Throughout the afternoon Baby & Fun, indoors entertainment for children: make-up, workshops, games and group dances.
From 4pm the “Ciacciabanda”, an intriguing street show.

During the days of the Christmas Market, you can also visit the Museum of Sacred Art located in the square, open for the duration of the event.
