Great celebrations for San Fausto, the Patron Saint of Castellina in Chianti, organized (from 7 to 15 September) by the associations of the village with the patronage and the contribution of the Municipality.
Here is the complete program.
SATURDAY 7 SEPTEMBER
Festa della Rificolona in honor of the Nativity of Mary, with the participation of the Castellina in Chianti Philharmonic.
SUNDAY 8 SEPTEMBER
At 8.30 am in the Piazza del Comune, blessing of the participants of the excursion organized by the Galletti MTB (mountain bike) and the excursion participants on the Via Romea Sanese with the Archaeological Group Salingolpe.
At 11am in the church of the SS. Salvatore, Holy Mass of the Nativity of Mary accompanied by the Guitarists.
At 1pm Lunch at Casce organized by the Galletti MTB (booking recommended).
At 6 pm in the church of the SS. Salvatore Choir festival organized by Schola Cantorum of Castellina in Chianti during the celebrations for the centenary of the foundation.
TUESDAY 10 SEPTEMBER
At 6 pm Holy Mass at the cemetery in suffrage of the dead.
WEDNESDAY 11 SEPTEMBER
At 6 pm at the municipal sports field match of the children’s soccer school and ASD Fc Castellina women’s football. Pizza at the stands of the sports field.
THURSDAY 12 SEPTEMBER
At 5.30pm in the church of the SS. Salvatore Triduo of San Fausto and Holy Mass.
At 6.30 pm in the church square the first “San Fausto Fest”, street food and live music, organized by the Blood Donors Group “Tommaso Costantino” and by the Confraternity of the Misericordia of Castellina.
FRIDAY 13 SEPTEMBER
At 5 pm in the church of the SS. Salvatore Triduo of San Fausto and Holy Mass.
At 6 pm in the church of the SS. Salvatore Recital for pianforte – Lavinia Berruti.
At 9.15 pm Via Crucis with torchlight procession up to Monte Calvario.
SATURDAY 14 SEPTEMBER
At 6 pm in the church of the SS. Salvatore Triduo of San Fausto and Holy Mass.
At 7.30 pm Apericena alle Casce organized by the Idea Youth Group and Giuliano da Sangallo Cultural Association.
At 9.30 pm in the Piazza del Comune concert of Pink Noice, Pink Floyd cover band.
SUNDAY 15 SEPTEMBER
At 11 am in the church of the SS. Salvatore, Holy Mass accompanied by the Guitarists.
At 12 am blessing of the vehicles.
At 4 pm in the church of the SS. Salvatore Solemn Eucharistic Celebration. Procession with the relics of San Fausto accompanied by the Filarmonica of Castellina in Chianti.
At 9.15 pm in the church square “Spose di Castellina yesterday and today”, a parade reminiscent of wedding dresses worn by girls from Castellina.
