This Summer the Municipalities of the Florentine Chianti reactivate the emergency medical service for all tourists who stay in the area.
In the municipalities of Greve in Chianti, San Casciano Val di Pesa and Barberino Tavarnelle, a tourist medical service is active in the various locations provided by the local associations.
This is a health care network that is added to the emergency service 118 and the ordinary medical service, which operate throughout the year.
The tourist medical service is aimed at visitors to the Chianti area, and will be active until August 31st. It will be carried out by primary care doctors who have made themselves available, in various practices with different opening hours. To use this service, tourists have to pay a fee.
In order to finance this medical service, the Regione Toscana has established the following tariffs: 10 euros for a short visit aimed at therapeutic continuity, 15 euros for daytime outpatient visits and 25 euro for home visits. First aid and first aid for an accident at work are excluded from payment.
During the night, the ordinary medical assistance stations in the area will be active, and will apply their various rates for services only to patients who are non-residents in Tuscany.
The tourist emergency medical service is active on Mondays in Tavarnelle in the Misericordia walk-in clinic in Viale Naldini from 2pm to 7pm.
On Wednesdays and Fridays from 8am to 1pm and Saturdays from 2pm to 7pm in Greve in Chianti at the headquarters of the Associazione Volontariato Grevigiano in via della Pace.
On Thursdays in San Casciano from 2pm to 7pm at the Misericordia walk-in clinic in piazzetta Simone Martini. The last 90 minutes of the service will be dedicated to any home visits.
