This is the first of a series of events on the theme of ‘matching’, where different master chefs will create delicious food and wine alchemies at Vitique.

During the course of four evenings the chefs of Vitique will host, and work side by side with highly rated chefs. Here’s a preview of this not-to-be-missed culinary experience.

On September 21st Vitique will meet “Osteria di Volpaia”: the Chefs Riccardo Vivarelli and Juan Camilo Quintero will offer a spectacular tasting itinerary paired with the wines of Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo and Castello di Volpaia.

This event at Vitique, in Greti (Greve in Chianti) starts at 8pm with an aperitif; at 8.30pm tasting dinner followed by a tour of the Santa Margherita Tenimenti Toscani winery.

Here is the menu and the wine pairing: Panforte di fegatini (Chicken liver panforte, by Osteria Volpaia), Santa Margherita – Pinot Grigio Metodo Classico Alto Adige Doc 2013; Spring onion, goat cheese, peppers and quail eggs (by Vitique), Prelius – Vermentino Maremma Toscana Doc 2017.

Mackerel ceviche, plantain and hearts of palm (Osteria Volpaia), Cà Maiol – Roseri Valtènesi Chiaretto Dop 2017; Lampredotto Cappelletti, shellfish bisque, raw seafood and tomato water (Vitique), Volpaia – Chianti Classico DOCG 2015.
