The Chianti Classic bike race is back. This tour, one of the oldest in Italy but always young in spirit, will take place on June 2nd in Castelnuovo Berardenga.

In this edition the three cycling routes have been changed (63, 93, 123 km), a new route for the Gravel bikes (83 km) has been added and the Randonneur route (195 km) has been modified.

The mountain stage “Monte Luco” has been introduced, and the “Canto del Gallo” stage has been brought back, with three Mortirolo-style climbs, including the Fonterutoli and Celsa climbs.

The Chianti Classic is part of the Circuito Toscano di Cicloturismo, the Circuito Terre d’Etruria e Siena’s Uisp Campionati. June 2nd will be the Italian Bicycle Festival, held on the day of the Festa della Repubblica (Republic Day), a perfect opportunity for a weekend in the Chianti region.

What’s great about this cycle tour? The streets void of traffic, scenic landscapes, refreshment points with local specialties, the chance to enjoy cycling without worrying about time and being able to take some wonderful pictures.
