This is a day dedicated to street food: from the traditional food, sold by the street kiosk that keeps local tradition alive, to the dish prepared for this occasion, and often on site, from a Michelin-starred restaurant. Jugglers, street artists and street bands will be entertaining around the town’s streets.
The Dit’Unto Festival (literally “oily finger”) celebrates for the fifth year the ‘art’ of eating with your hands, on Sunday 8th October (at Villa a Sesta).
For the most energetic, the day will start with a walk in the town’s surroundings, starting at 9am, offered by the Trekking Association Berardenga Gruppo Escursionisti.
And for those who want to avoid looking for a parking space, and fully relax, there will be the “UntoBus” that will depart from Siena, viale Toselli (from the parking lot in front of the Penny Market) (10.30am; 12pm; 14.30pm). Three return buses (3.30pm; 5pm; 6.30pm) – ticket price: 5 Euro (round trip).
If you purchase the ticket on www.ditunto.it (from Friday, September 15th) you can also book the tickets for the tasting! By doing so, you can skip the queue at the counters and pick up the tickets directly at the reception and information point set up at town’s entrance.(at the “Unt’Office”).
