For five days, starting on June 1, at the Castello di Verrazzano in Greve in Chianti, a music show will take place.

With Classic@ Verrazzano the scene is the panoramic terrace which dominates a sea of green: rows of graves, olive groves and woods.

“We opened house,” explains Luigi Cappellini, owner of the Castello di Verrazzano and president of the Fondazione Giovanni da Verrazzano, “for the joy of welcoming that which evokes our passions, and here those are the classic notes that we hear in the air while the light of day ends among the shadows of our multi-faceted countryside”.

“With great satisfaction, we host this musical show for the 4th season. It not only attracts residents, but tourists looking for a fascinating evening as well”, comments An Roos, curator and creator of the event.

“The program”, she explains, “is made up of 5 appointments, the 5 consecutive Thursdays in the month of June, with up and coming artists from the international scene”.

LiricaVerrazzanoThe event, Classic@Verrazzano, evolved from the 3 years of concerts of Armonia di Ville e Castelli, also created and curated by An Roos of the Associazione Spazio Lirica and with the patronage of the Township of Greve in Chianti.

Its objective is to offer the territory another and stable possibility for musical encounters in order to be a point of reference with a rich and refined musical gathering.

In addition to being a cultural event, Classic@Verrazzano aims to be a means of promoting tourism and of giving value to the territory by offering the best framework for those living here during this period.

The theme of the program is “Passion”, interpreted by each artist in an original manner.

The first appointment if for Thursday, June 1. It begins with the sax Quartetto “Auris” composed of Martina Daga Saxofono Soprano, Orlando Cialli Saxofono Contralto, Giada Moretti Saxofono Tenore and Giulia Fidenti Saxofono Baritono.

The program consists of: Johann Sebastian Bach Aria sulla quarta Corda; Georges Bizet Habanera da Carmen; Franz Schubert Ave Maria; Leo Delibes Flower Duet da Lakmè; Felix Mendelssohn Romanze senza Parole, Gabriel Faurè Pavana; Claude Debussy La fille aux cheveux de lin; Georges Gershwin The man I love, Rhapsody in blue; Carlos Gardel Por una cabezza.
