With these words, Fabrizio Nepi, Mayor of Castelnuovo Berardenga commented the presence of his town at the 8th place of the top ten Italian destinations of the Travelers’ Choice TM Destinations Awards, 2017, created by TripAdvisor based on the favorite places for travelers in all the world.
“To enter the Italian top 10 on a travel site that interacts with millions of users – adds Nepi – is news that we greet with great satisfaction and something that pleases the entire territory. Every day the hospitality structures, from hotels to farm stays to restaurants, from producers of excellent products starting with wine and olive oil, work hard and are ambassadors for Castelnuovo and Tuscany in the world as well as for the numerous associations active in social media, culture and sport.

“The presence in the Italian classification of TripAdvisor – concludes the Mayor – as the only locality in the province of Siena and among the two in Tuscany together with Florence, together with places like Selva di Val Gardena and Naples, is the result of teamwork which the town administration supports and valorizes in a growing manner while aiming at other potential for growth and promotion and for events capable of de-seasonalizing tourism and attracting visitors even in periods which are usually slow”.

The winners are declared on the base of an algorithm that weighs the quantity and quality of reviews and points of hotels, attractions and restaurants obtained in all of the world during the last 12 months and in the interest of travelers towards destinations registered on TripAdvisor.
The Italian classification sees Rome, Florence and Venice on the podium, while the fourth place was won by Sorrento, followed by Milan and Selva di Val Gardena.
These localities are followed closely by Castelnuovo Berardenga, before Naples and the Isle of Ischia.
