The second edition of “Io sono Etrusco” (I am an Etruscan), will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 5 and 6. It is a festival dedicated to study, archaeology, and entertainment in the Chianti Classico zone of Siena.

On Saturday, at 10:15 AM, there will be a guided tour of the Necropolis of Poggione, led by Dr. P. Giroldini of the Superintendent of Archaeological Heritage. At 2:15 PM, there will be a guided visit of the archaeological dig in the Etruscan village of Cetamura with the director of the dig, Dr. Nancy T. deGrummond of Florida State University.

At 4 PM,  meeting at the Circolo Filarmonico of Gaiole in Chianti will take place with varied participants: “La via etrusca del Chianti”, Dr. Giroldini, “Gli Etruschi nel Chianti. Rassegna di fonti archeologiche: nuove ricerche per una guida del territorio”, Prof. L. Cimino; “Nuovi scavi a Cetamura”, with Dr. Nancy T. deGrumond and Dr. F. Cini of Coop. Ichnos; at 7 PM, an aperitif; at 8, the show, “Pseudolus”, by and with Francesco Pennacchia, based liberally on “Pseudolus” by Plauto; at 9 PM, grand Etruscan dinner.Reservations are required.
