The second weekend of “Monteaperti, past and present” is ready to go in Casetta. The festival commemorates the battle between Guelphs and Ghibellines fought on September 24, 1260.

The 2016 edition is rich with events related to music, culture, sport, and traditional cuisine. The final evening, Sunday, September 4, will be highlighted by the traditional Battle dinner, the Medieval market, and the torchlight procession from “Acqua Borra” to the Pillar of Monteaperti.

The second weekend of the festival begins on Friday, August 26 at 8 PM with the traditional dinner of the “locio”; reservations are required. The “festa” continues at 9:30 PM with music from the 70s.

On Saturday, August 20, at 8 PM, is dinner with Chianina beef on the grill. At 9:30 PM the orchestra, Rosati band, will play.

On Sunday, August 28, the day will continue until early morning with a contest for truffle dogs starting at 7 AM. 8:30 AM is the departure for the battle stroll, organized in collaboration with the Sporting Group of Monteaperti.

The walk covers 13 km with the meeting place at the Casetta Club at 8 AM. 8:30 AM is also the start of the photographic tour between the past and the present.

Lunch begins at 1 PM, and the day continues at 6:30 PM with a dance exhibition by the Mg School of Siena. Starting at 8 PM, there will be a self service dinner and dancing with Daniele Neri beginning at 9:30 PM.
