A book and an opera concert in honour of the great singer and teacher Daniel Ferro. Thus the opera tourism season moves on in Chianti, having placed its roots in Greve more than twenty years ago thanks to the quality, intuition and the international master classes held by the American artist, who died last November .

The tradition of Belcanto takes a long journey, from the lands across the Channel to the most beautiful hills in the world.

Today, as in the past, the town council under Sottani invests on lyrical-musical culture as a quality tourism driver and proposes a whole summer under the international operatic repertoire.

At the Castello di Verrazzano Friday, July 15th to 20th, “Daniel Ferro Vocal Program” book will be presented. The advanced course for opera singers in Greve in Chianti from 1995 to 2014”, taken from the series directed by Giovanni Weidinger Studium Faesulanum Edizioni Hollitzer.

A lyrical concert will follow by Daniel Ferro’s students. Some international teachers will be present, who carry the legacy of Daniel Ferro including Grainne Dunne (Ireland / Germany), Florence Katz (France), Raminta Lampsatis (Lithuania / Germany), Xun Mei Liu (China), Cristiano Manzoni (Italy) Ira Siff (USA).

“It was an important experience, commenced by Daniel Ferro,”  said the Councillor for Culture Lorenzo Lotti , “in which we believed enough to develop two international projects following Ferro’s steps.  Quality artistic events of which allow us to offer to the public operas staged by teachers and students from various areas of the US, as during the season that has just ended with professionals from Connecticut, and shows that will follow in the coming weeks”.
