Shopping, music, and dancing under the stars with San Casciano Sempre Aperta (San Casciano, Always Open) begins today, Tuesday, July 5, at 9pm.

The many events and shows along the streets of San Casciano start this evening. The program is promoted by the “La Dolce Gita” (stores selling natural products) and the Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the town of San Casciano and “Pro Loco” and the contribution of ChiantiBanca.

The rich program of events, put together with the help of local associations, proposes a month of initiative, every Tuesday, up until July 26.

Theatre, contemporary art, books and toys, dancing, music, photographs, an art and gadget market, street art and local, 0 kilometer, production will be featured. The San Casciano summer starts with the special opening of the 40 shops which adhere to the CCN, headed by Saverio Corti. The stores propose special prices to the clients who attend the Tuesday evening openings.

A gift related to local wine production will be given to all of those who spend 40 euros or mure in their shops. This evening, there will be a traveling show in piazza Pierozzi which will take the public along the streets of the town with the magic of music, theatre and dance.

The dancers of Centro Danza Chianti, the musicians of the musical Academy of San Casciano and the youth of the Oxfam association will perform.

Tuesday, July 12, the castle of San Casciano will host the 0 kilometer market organized by the shop owners who will exhibit there wares in front of the stores. This time, the youth of the Oxfm association and the street artists and jugglers will entertain children in piazza della Repubblica.

On Tuesday, July 19, the Quodlibet Chorus will sing along the streets of the town, like traveling minstrels.

The last Tuesday, the 26, the “Street-San’Art” with the participation of two writers, Skim and Lollo, will create works of table art and on cellophane. The works will be donated to local schools.

Finally, along the streets of the town, the best images of the photography contest, “La Torre al centro del Chianti” (The tower in the middle of Chianti) will be exhibited, and in piazza Pierozzi some works of the students of Angela Baccani and Daniela Holzinger can be admired.

The Sancaballet will be protagonist of a traveling show dedicated to the art of Giuliano Gelli, whose busts of women, part of “L’Esercito della Pace” (The army of peace), can be admired. Starting Saturday, July 9, and during “tuesday shopping” you can visit the exhibit by Luigi Chilleri, entitled “La pace sia con te Gerusalemme” (May peace be with you Jerusalem) in the Cupola del Acli Club.
