On June 5, under the shade of the Vallombrosana Abbey of Badia a Passignano, facing the vineyards of Antinori, one can tour Chianti aboard a Lambretta.
After the first round (Sunday May 29), the festival “Arte e Vino” (Art and Wine), returns. The proceeds of the event will be given to the Meyer Children’s Hospital of Florence.
This is the schedule: 9:30am…s ign-up for the 2nd rally, “Lambrettiamo”; 10am… departure in Lambretta for the Chianti hills ;10am-12:30 am/3:30pm-6:30pm… guided tours of the monastery; 11:30am-12:30pm and 3:30pm-7pm… tasting of the wines of the Fattoria di Montecchio, art,sculpture and photography exhibit, artisan market and photography and print show, “Lambrette d’epoca”. 12:30pm…wine tasting, buffet lunch on the Monastery lawn (minimum “offer”, 20 Euros..all proceeds to Meyer) with 2 first courses, grilled meat, side dish, biscotti and holy wine, and wine and water. 5pm…”Lambrette” conversation with Giancarlo Gori, Alberto and Piero Ancillotti 6pm…auction of excellent local wines (proceeds to Meyer) the general director of the hospital, Dr. Alberto Zanobini and the president of the Italian Lambretta Club, Giampiero Cola, will participate. Bar and snack service as well as guided tours will be available.
