The “Viticoltori di San Donato in Poggio” winemakers association has been established in San Donato in Poggio, in the historic Palazzo Malaspina.
The founding members were present: Stefano Carpaneto (Badia a Passignano), Paolo Paffi (Casa Emma), Alberto Albisetti (Castello della Paneretta), Sandro Caramelli (Fattoria La Ripa), Laura Bianchi (Castello di Monsanto), Riccardo Nuti (Fattoria Montecchio), Alessandro Cassetti Burchi (Le Filigare), Natascia Rossini (Podere La Cappella), Matteo Gambaro (Casa Sola), Vittorio Rossi (Fattoria Quercia al Poggio), Paolo De Marchi (Isole e Olena), Giampaolo Stefanelli (Fattoria Spadaio e Piecorto), Giovanni Davaz (Poggio al Sole).
The new association gathers together wineries of the Chianti Classico area, located in the Florentine municipalities of Tavarnelle and Barberino Val d’Elsa.
It was created to give a voice to this territory – highlighting the geological and pedoclimatic traits of the various companies’ vineyards – enhancing the agricultural, historical and cultural tradition, with special attention to wine production and winemaking features.
The assembly of the associates has unanimously appointed the president, Laura Bianchi of the Castello di Monsanto, and the secretary, Natascia Rossini from Podere La Cappella.
The newly established association will join the others which are already present in the Chianti Classico region – in Panzano in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga, Lamole (Greve in Chianti), Montefioralle (Greve in Chianti) and San Casciano.
