This amazing dinner was the latest event at the Castello del Nero, before the traditional Christmas lunch and New Year’s Eve dinner that will close 2017.

It has been a great year for the Castello del Nero, which has increasingly opened its doors to external guests, organising summer aperitifs and themed dinners during autumn and winter.

On Thursday, December 21st, in the restaurant La Torre (one Michelin Star), game was the star of an extraordinary dinner.

Cooked by two special chefs (“and first of all good friends” said the Castle’s managing director Fabio Datteroni): the executive chef of Castello Del Nero, Giovanni Luca Di Pirro, and the chef of Atman restaurant (Villa Rospigliosi, Pistoia), Igles Corelli.

Two restaurants, each awarded with one Michelin Star (this is the fifth star won by chef Corelli, who has them all tattooed on his forearm), which have “merged” to create a truly unique evening. The pairing of red wines from Tenute Lunelli added another drop of prestige.

Beginning with the starter (cooked by chef Corelli), a smoked roe deer tartare with vegetables ‘in osmosis’, in which the wild taste was well balanced by the smoked aroma and the refreshing onions.

The amazing first course, a game risotto with parmesan ice cream (also cooked by chef Corelli) really won over the guests.

The second course, cooked by chef Di Pirro, a very tender fillet of wild boar, red beetroot, strawberry grapes and ‘cime di rapa’. Top-quality raw material and perfect cooking technique for an elegant dish.

The pre-dessert of persimmon cream with marron glacé ice cream was a prelude to the dessert (made by Di Pirro), a delightful chocolate and liquorice ‘croccante’, with chestnut biscuit and apricot puree.

The miniature pastries and the trolley with pralines and macarons rounded off the spectacular dinner. And now the Castello del Nero is ready for amazing new events in 2018.
