EVENT POSTPONED DUE TO THE WEATHER FORECAST

Barberino Val d’Elsa will be offering a trip back in time, through memories and objects from the 20th century. On Sunday, September 18, from 10 AM till 8 PM an important event wiill animate the historic center of Barberino, in Chianti.

It will take place among the architecture and medieval atmosphere of the castle where, since 2004, the “Bandiera Arancione” (Orange Flag) has been waving. There will be a large garden of memorabilia, dedicated to the 1900’s, a century full of transformations and rich in events: art nouveau, events and fashion, and a century of history, entwine with exhibitions, events and animation in every corner and piazza of the ancient village.

The festival, “900 in piazza” (the 1900’s in the piazza) is promoted by the town of Barberino val d’Elsa and organized by Colleventi, and has several initiatives programmed for the day.

Exhibitions of autos and motor bikes will alternate, and there will be stands of antiques and collectibles. You will be enchanted by the exhibition of objects from long ago. There will be themed attractions for young and old.

“This is a new occasion”, comments the Assessor of Tourism, Cristina Pratesi, “to give continuity to our project of development for tourists, open and welcoming, which characterizes Barberino and revitalizes the city center with a plan for cultural opportunities and events which are geared to promote the territory. This time we have decided to bet on the theme of “memory”, in homage to a century which we feel close to: one of grand cultural,social and economic successes, a page of history which our grandparents will remember and celebrate together with the rest of the community”.
