Now that Spring has blossomed in the Chianti, it’s time for the “Terre di Maggio” Festival through the streets of San Casciano’s historic centre: on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May.

This event is organized by the Pro Loco of San Casciano. They tell us what the festival is about: “With the help of some plant nurseries we will fill the historic centre of roses and aromatic plants. Shops will be open and in their windows you’ll be able to admire a “travelling exhibit” of floral dresses“.

Piazza della Repubblica (Piazzone) will be turned into an “educational farm”, while under the walls of the historic centre you’ll find the “Sagra delle Frattaglie”, where meaty delicacies and offal, typical Tuscan and Chianti street food, will be served.

All locally produced food with aromas and flavours of Chianti.

The headquarters of the Pro Loco di San Casciano, in via Machiavelli, will host a “craft workshop”. Finally, art will be the background theme of the event, bringing colours and creative surprises to the streets of the historic centre.
