Saturday 25 March at 18.45 at the Teatro Vittorio Alfieri in Castelnuovo Berardega Lo Stanzone delle Apparizioni presents “Music and Literature”, “Schumann and romantic age“, with Matteo Fossi (piano) Matteo Marsan (Narrator) and with the participation of Aurora Ciolfi.

“Kreisleriana” op. 16 is perhaps the piano masterpiece of Robert Schumann. Surely, this is one of his most tormented, misunderstood, even by the same contemporaries of the great German composer; so much so that, twelve years after its composition, Schumann “had to” prepare a second version for a new publication, trying to mitigate what appeared to be too bold for its time.

In the event of 25 MarchMatteo Fossi will execute the original version of this masterpiece, which will be interspersed with readings by Matteo Marsan, taken from the novel by E.T.A. Hoffmann, to which Schumann was inspired and the letters of Robert and Clara Wieck, one of the most beautiful and poetic letters of the romantic age.
