Find a treasure. Jewels of creativity, artisanal and artistic come to life from the hands and hearts of women in the prestigious space of Chiara di Prumiano, in the heart of the Tuscan countryside in the hills of Barberino Val d’Elsa.

On November 26 and 27 in the 17th century villa, “Apriti Sesamo!” (Open, Sesame!) will open its doors. It is a market/exhibit organized with the patronage of the township of Barberino and the contribution of the Banca del Credito Coopertivo of Cambiano.

More than 20 artisans and artists, Italian and foreigners, Residents of Chianti and of Valdelsa will be represented. A room, bedroom, a treasure trove of objects made in Italy, both beautiful and functional, will be part of the exhibit.

You will be able to admire and buy creations of ceramics, fabrics, painting and painting on fabric, jewelry, wrought iron objects, and handmade paper.

“This is a privileged showcase”, comments the organizer, Gaia Mezzadri, “dedicated to feminine creativity. It will give space to many outlets in the decorated rooms of the Villa wrapped in an original and joyous atmosphere; from the recuperating of antique talents, to organic produce production, to unusual naturalistic production from our territory, to the creation of baskets”.

Open Sesame! is a vast and heterogeneous box of treasures, in its 5th year. The objects come from the artistic sector; the creation of mosaics and puppets, decorated handbags and home furnishings, products for the beauty and wellbeing of women. There will be body ornaments, organic beauty products, and facial treatments and massages. “

We are participating in the day against femicide”, adds Gaia”, and Terre des Hommes, one of the most important world associations which defends the rights of children, against violence exploitation, abuse and maltreatment, will be present”.

Concurrently with the exhibit, there will be a photography exhibit curated by the Gruppo di Lavoro di Forli. A musical performance on Sunday, November 27, will entertain the public in the afternoon. Le Bandidas , a group of women percussionists, will be performing. The tearoom, where a refreshment point offering sweet or salty snacks, will be open.
